What's in the bag?

1. Satchel from H&M.  My bag is the very definition of non-designer, but I love it for it's ability to hold my camera, all of this junk, plus assorted tampons and tissues (not pictured).
2. Sunglasses from New Look.
3. Oyster card holder (permanently in my bag despite not living in London, otherwise I forget it every time I visit) from Cath Kidson.
4. iPhone 4S.
5. Palmer's Cocoa Butter hand cream.
6. Burt's Bees Pomegranate lip balm (I have - no joke - about ten Burt's Bees lip balm tubes stashed in bags, in coat pockets, in make-up bags, in my car... I love them).
7. Assorted medications for IBS and jaw pain.
8. Rather tangled Sennheiser earbuds.
9. Mechanical pencil 'borrowed' from work.
10. Small notebook in which to make lists of books I want.
11. Mini hairbrush, with which to tame my fringe.
12. Purse from Cath Kidson.

What's in your bag? Go on, tell me; I'm incorrigibly nosy!

  1. Always my purse, phone, keys and a hairbrush. Rarely anything else. Oh, except husband's phone, wallet, keys, inhalers and tissues.

  2. I like these. I did a bag clean out this morning so right now I have wallet, phone, camera that needs charging, lipstick and lip balm, keys, glasses case and am about to put a journal and a book in there too. :)

  3. Love the satchel! I should do another one of these. Although, I need/want a new bag so might wait until then.

  4. I'm nosy too! My bag contains (off the top of my head) tissues, pens (blue, black, pink, purple highlighter, every eventuality covered there!), umbrella, paracetamol, mini torch, house keys, purse, a couple of bags for life, a usb stick, bottle of water, sunglasses, phone case, mints, a book, think that's about it...

  5. Oh me me!! I want to do this!!

Although my bag is so bliddy small that there isn't a lot of crap in there.

I need to start carrying painkillers with me, I'm in massive painkiller debt at work because I'm always mooching them off other people.

Can I say a hallelujah for the pomegranate Burt's Bees lip balm as well?

  6. I love 'what's in my handbag post' - I'm definitely the nosy type.

And I love your bag. I love non-designer, practical-but-nice bags. I think my bag contains my purse, my filofax (because I cannot handle electronic organisers), work mobile and personal mobile, mp3 player, pencil case with pens (no, I'm not ten years old, just a bit odd), tissues and antihistamines, hand cream, lip balm of some sort (like you I have loads of those everywhere, but of varying makes), chewing gum, paracetamol, camera, mirror.

  7. I love all of these insights into bags! I can't believe I forgot to mention a book - that's pretty much a standard in my bag, but I was between books when I wrote this, and also a canvas tote folded up small (in which to place my book purchases, of course).

  8. Lovely bag - and that's saying something as I normally dislike satchels...
My bag? Receipts, lip balm, receipts, pen, receipts, sticky tape, receipts, purse (perpetually empty), receipts, gum, essentials purse - tampons, tissues, keys to parent's houses, plasters, swiss bank card (ie a swiss army knife for girls), safety pin - receipts....

    1. Having an essentials purse is SUCH a good idea! Totally on the look-out now for a suitably cute purse to hold all of those random bits.

  9. I posted mine avec photos, consider it inspired by yours and The Girl's. I do like your bag, too. I quite like the idea of a satchel, but I fear they would be too stiff or school girl-like; I'm not quite sure I'm kitsch enough to pull it off.

    1. My boyfriend always calls stuff like my satchel, my duffle coat and my passion for polka dots, "that cute twee indie thing you have going on". It's definitely a hard look to pull off if you're not confident about it. I'm not entirely convinced it's a look I should still be rocking at the age of almost 36, but eh.
