What I wore: The 'To keep or not to keep?' edition

This dress was a bargain £12 from Dorothy Perkins (seriously, does anyone ever pay full price for their stuff? I constantly have a voucher code or an offer in my inbox) but I'm undecided about it, so who do I turn to? Why, you!

On the plus side, I like the gingham check, which is different to anything else I own but looks ace styled with a headscarf. I also like that, thanks to my new tattoo, I might just be brave enough to take my cardigan off.

On the minus? You can see my bra, which I'm worried looks tacky (but with boobs my size, there's no avoiding the massive over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders), and when I do take my cardi off, my back fat is a wonder to behold, forming a whole new cleavage behind my existing one.  Also, I'm not sure if the whole effect is a little sack-like.

So, dear readers, opinions? Apparently I'm now unable to make a decision without crowdsourcing it.

* Sandals: Marks & Spencer * Headscarf: Vintage * Bra: Bravissimo *

  1. I really like it - I don't think it particularly matters about being able to see the bra! I also love the sandals and the headscarf. I vote keep. :)

  2. keep it - it's a great outfit. A little bra showing never hurt anyone plus the dress will be perfect for summer. Liking the headscarf too!

  3. I really like it, just as the commenters above me! As long as it is a decent bra it doesn't matter. I would think twice about wearing a bright pink one under this dress, but this black one is just fine!

  4. The bra is totally not an issue. The back fat? I can't comment because I haven't seen it but will you be too conscious of it to take your cardi off? If you think you can brazen it out until you forget, keep the dress; if you're going to end up sweltering uncomfortably, take it back.

  5. Blimey! You have the body of a goddess! Either that or the dress makes it look that way - definitely keep it!

    As for back cleavage, it's the new front cleavage.

  6. Keep it! I love gingham anyway, but I think it suits you, and I think it makes up a lovely outfit.

  7. I really like the dress, it looks good, thought I'm not too keen on the visible bra, I do think it would look better without - could you find one that's not quite so high so it doesn't appear over the top of the dress perhaps? Alternatively, maybe where a longsleeve top, or tshirt, under the dress?

    1. Sadly I'm very limited when it comes to bras, so few companies make them in my size and they are all, by necessity, huge!

  8. I really like it and think the peek of the bra looks great. But if you don't feel comfortable in it and it will end up hanging in your wardrobe unworn then take it back. Outfits are all about how they make you feel rather than what you look like.

  9. Thanks all! I think the general consensus is 'keep it', so keep it I shall.

  10. *comes in late to the party*

    I vote keep. I think the little bit of bra poking out just makes it look nice - like a little extra detail!
